The two-ratio shortcut
If you only make two, make 9:16 (covers all vertical placements) and 4:5 (the strongest feed ratio). Those two cover the vast majority of DTC paid social.
Why 4:5 beats 1:1 in feed
Portrait 4:5 takes more vertical space than a square, so it commands more of the screen as someone scrolls — usually a measurable lift over 1:1 for the same creative.
