Start from a template
Open Studio and browse the template library by category or format. Choose a template and VoolMotion creates a project from it that you can edit. Every template has a locked layout and animation, so you customize the content without breaking the design.
The workspace
The editor has four areas:
- Layers panel (left) — the scenes and layers that make up the ad.
- Preview stage (center) — a live preview of the rendered ad; click a layer to select it.
- Inspector (right) — the styles and controls for whatever is selected.
- Timeline (bottom) — playback, scene lengths and total duration.
Panel sizes are remembered on your device between sessions.
Quick edits
The fastest way to fill an ad: select a scene and use the Quick Edits panel to fill only the editable content — the headline or call-to-action text, the product image or video, and any scene audio — without touching layout. This is all most ads need.
Edit text
Select a text layer to change its wording in the Inspector, along with font, weight, color and alignment. Because layouts are locked, your text stays positioned and animated correctly as you type.
Add and replace media
Select an image or video layer and upload your own file to replace the placeholder; the new media inherits the template’s framing and motion. You can also add and replace audio. A transparent PNG works best for product cut-outs on many templates.
Colors, shapes and borders
Shape layers support fills and gradients, per-corner rounding and border styles (aligned outside, inside or centered on the edge). Use the color pickers in the Inspector, with preset brand swatches for quick, consistent choices.
Scenes and layers
An ad is made of scenes, and each scene contains layers (text, image, video, shapes). Select a layer on the stage or in the Layers panel to edit it. You can select multiple layers at once (hold Cmd/Ctrlwhile clicking) to move them together, nudge a selection with the arrow keys, and lock layers you don’t want to change.
Animations
Each layer can have In and Out animations, and an ambient Infinitymotion (a gentle wiggle, a bounce or a continuous spin) that loops while the layer is on screen. Set these in the Inspector’s Animation section; the preview updates live.
Effects
Open the Effects menu in the tools bar to add an effect to the selected layer: a Gaussian blur (blurs the layer itself), a glass blur (a frosted pane that blurs what’s behind it), or a fill color overlay.
Draw with the pen tool
Need a custom shape? Turn on the pen tool (press P) and click to place points on the stage; hold Shift to lock a straight segment, and click the first point or press Enter to close the shape. Press Esc to discard.
Apply your brand kit
On paid plans, a brand kit stores your logo, colors and fonts so supported templates apply them automatically — every ad stays on-brand without manual adjustment.
The timeline
Use the timeline to play the ad, scrub to a moment, and adjust how long each scene runs or the total duration. Click the time readout to jump to an exact time.
Undo, redo and saving
Every change is undoable (many steps of history), so experiment freely. Rename the project from the name in the top bar, and use Saveto store your work. When you’re happy, move on to the export guide to render your MP4.
